Instructions to Authors
The Regional Journal of Information and Knowledge Management is a biannual open access scholarly journal. All the articles published in the journal are double blind peer reviewed by eminent information and knowledge management scholars. One print special edition is published annually. This edition publish the most popular articles of the year. The journal provides a credible, safe and trustworthy platform for information and knowledge management professionals, researchers and scholars in Africa and beyond to engage, share and learn through the publishing of quality scholarly materials both online and offline.
Structure of article
Every manuscript should have the following sections:
- Title – Brief title phrase; name(s) and affiliation(s) of author(s); email address(es) of the author(s)
- Abstract – This is structured to provide information on the rationale of the study, methodology, findings, implications, and originality. Maximum 250 words.
- Keywords – Maximum ten (10) words
- Body – The article should provide contextual background of the study; research rationale; theoretical framework; findings; discussion of findings; and implications of findings.
- References – An alphabetical list of all cited works.
- Appendices – Any documents used during the study which provide additional but critical information.
Language
All manuscripts will be written in English (United Kingdom).
Number of words
Manuscripts should not exceed 5,000 words including the abstract, references and appendices. This word count also includes figures, tables, and equations which should be accounted for by calculating a word count equivalent to the space they occupy.
Text Formatting
APA reference and formatting style is used. Examples are provided hereunder:
- Books
Author, A. A. (Year of publication). Title of work: Capital letter also for subtitle. Location: Publisher.
- Articles in journals

Acknowledgment
The authors should acknowledge any institutions, groups or individuals who supported the study.
Copyright
The copyright of the articles published by journal belongs to the authors without restrictions. Nonetheless, all articles published by the Regional Journal of Information and Knowledge Management are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY). This license lets others remix, tweak, and build upon the work even commercially, and although their new works must also acknowledge the original authors, they don’t have to license their derivative works on the same terms.
Review of manuscripts (Editorial and Peer Review)
Manuscripts submitted to the journal are double blind reviewed. This implies that the details of the authors and reviewers are not disclosed to either party.
Plagiarism Testing
Manuscripts submitted to the journal are subjected to anti-plagiarism test using Turnitin. Only articles which attain at least 80% uniqueness are accepted. Authors are advised to check their articles for plagiarism before submission to avoid disappointment.
Article Processing Charges
The Regional Journal of Information and Knowledge Management does not charge any fees for article submission or processing.
Submission of manuscripts
All manuscripts are submitted in softcopy in MS Word format via the submission page.
